Gittelman, Tschider Score 100th Career Point in Win at Emerson

BOSTON - Sadie Tschider (Piedmont, CA/Piedmont) and Reese Gittelman (Ocean City, Md./Worcester Preparatory) each scored their 100th career point in Smith's 17-7 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) win over Emerson Saturday night.

Game Highlights
  • Emma Butterick (Windsor, CT/Windsor) set up Gittelman for the first goal of the game just two minutes in and Smith would add five more to go up 6-1 at the end of the opening period
  • Gittelman and Jennie Arancio (Smithtown, N.Y./Hauppauge) scored back-to-back to begin the second. Emerson responded with an unassisted goal before Smith closed out the half on a 4-1 run to make it 11-3
  • The Lions scored four-of-five in the third but the Pioneers owned the fourth quarter, lighting up the scoreboard with five unanswered goals and the 17-7 win

By the Numbers
  • Gittelman finished with six points on a season-best four goals and two assists to reach the 100-point mark
  • Tschider posted two goals and two assists for four points to reach the milestone
  • Caroline Sanders (Trabuco, CA/Santa Margarita) scored a game-high five goals
  • Goalkeeper Brooke Testa (Pittstown, NJ/Delaware Valley) made six saves in the win
