NORTHAMPTON - The MIT lacrosse team rolled past Smith in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) matchup Saturday on Senior Day. The Pioneers fall to 5-7 on the year with a 2-2 mark in league play. 

Game Highlights

• MIT wasted no time, jumping out to a 7-0 lead after the first and a 16-0 advantage at halftime
• Jennie Arancio (Smithtown, N.Y./Hauppauge) scored the first goal for Smith in the opening minute of the third and added her second of the game later in the period
• The Engineers went up 19-2 at the end of three before Sydney Havlick (Murrieta, Calif./Murrieta Valley) found the back of the net to begin the fourth
• Four unanswered goals by MIT made it a final score of 23-3

By the Numbers

• Three Smith goalkeepers saw action as Brooke Testa (Pittstown, NJ/Delaware Valley) made three saves, Shannon Houtenville (East Windsor, NJ/Highstown) finished with four, and Paige Rocha (Melrose, MA/Melrose) recorded two
• Caroline Sanders (Trabuco, CA/Santa Margarita) picked up three ground balls and added three draw controls
