ITHACA, NY - The Smith College swimming and diving team began competition at the three-day Bomber Invitational at Ithaca on Friday, ranking eighth out of nine teams with 78 points. 

Meet Highlights

• Abby Dease (Hillsborough, NC/Orange) completed the meet's longest event, the 1650 freestyle, in a time of 19:52.11, good for 13th position
• In the 800 free relay, the 'A' team of Cady Dorrian (Jacksonville, FL/Douglas Anderson School of the Arts), Maddie Milla (Nyack, NY/Nyack), Emma Schultz (Hyattsville, MD/Elizabeth Seton), and Jessie Wang (Princeton, NJ/Princeton) placed 10th in 8:11.34
• The 'B' team of Dease, Ruthie Harkins (Irvine, CA/Crean Lutheran South), Carla Zeppettella (Centerville, OH/Centerville), and Parv Bonyadlou (Williamsburg, VA/Warhill) touched the wall 12th in 8:31.62
