NORTHAMPTON - The Smith College lacrosse team dropped a 15-4 decision to Connecticut College Wednesday evening in non-conference action. With the setback, the Pioneers dip to 2-3 on the year. The Camels are now 1-1 overall. 

By the Numbers

• Caroline Sanders (Orange County, CA/Santa Margarita Catholic) and Kyra Hawk (San Jose, CA/The Harker School) each tallied two goals for Smith
• Goalkeeper Shannon Houtenville (East Windsor, NJ/Highstown) made 10 saves in the loss. Brooke Testa (Pittstown, NJ/Delaware Valley) made her first appearance of the season and stopped three shots for the Pioneers.
• Jennie Arancio (Smithtown, N.Y./Hauppauge) finished with seven ground balls and four draw controls
• For the visitors, Kate Coughlin led the offensive effort with four goals

Game Highlights

• Sanders scored the game's opening goal before Connecticut College responded with nine unanswered goals to span the first, second and third quarters. 
• Trailing 9-1, Sanders added her second of the game early in the third followed by two more markers for the Camels
• Hawk found the back of the net to make it 11-3 before the visitors rattled off four more goals late in the half
• Hawk added a tally with under four minutes on the clock for the final score
