NORTHAMPTON - The Smith College basketball team rode a pair of dominant wins last week to stay at No. 3 in the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association Coaches' Poll, the organization announced earlier this week. 

The Bears posted two emphatic road wins last week over UMass Dartmouth, 83-38, and Johnson & Wales (78-60). Junior guard Virginia Johnson (Minneapolis, MN/Southwest) was named to the NEWBA Honor Roll Second team after averaging 14 points and 10 boards to go along with 3.0 assists and 2.0 blocks per game, while junior guard Felicia Fongemie (Ashford, CT/Marianapolis Prep) posted 16.5 points off the bench in the two victories. 

Smith hosts No. 10 Trinity (5-0) on Sunday at 4:00pm in a highly anticipated top-10 matchup.
