SPRINGFIELD - Smith College junior diver
Katherine Welsh (St. Paul, MN/Saint Paul Academy) turned in a career-best performance on the 3-meter at Saturday's 2025 NCAA Division III Northeast/North Regional Diving Championships hosted by Springfield College. Welsh placed seventh out of a field of 30 student-athletes with a score of 443.35.
Issara Schmidt of NYU captured the 3-meter title with a score of 488.30, with Fiora Beratahani of MIT and Sydney Bluestein of Amherst finishing second and third, respectively.
The top four finishers in each of the two diving events at this weekend's regional automatically qualify for the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, with qualifications beyond the top four possible to reach a total of eight divers that will qualify from the region. The qualifiers for the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships will be officially announced next week.
