Lacrosse Dominates from Start to Finish in 25-11 Win Over Emerson

BOSTON, MA. – The Smith College lacrosse team delivered its most prolific offensive performance of the season on Wednesday night, racing past Emerson College 25-11 in NEWMAC action at Rotch Field.

With the win, Smith improves to 10-6 overall and 6-3 in conference play, while Emerson falls to 5-9 (1-8 NEWMAC).

Game Highlights:

  • Sadie Tschider (Piedmont, CA/Piedmont) recorded  five goals and two assists to lead the Pioneers, including four goals in a row.

  • Kyra Hawk (San Jose, CA/The Harker School) was electric once again, tallying four goals and six assists, bringing her to double-digit points for the second time this season.

  • Jenna Paczkowski (Jupiter, FL/Choate Rosemary Hall) netted a six goals, including a pair of free-position finishes.

  • Emma Butterick (Windsor, CT/Windsor) added two goals and four assists, continuing her streak of multi-point games.

  • Caroline Weyhrich (Boise, ID/Boise) won a team-best nine draw controls, helping Smith dominate possession with a 24-14 draw control advantage.

  • Danika Lipchitz (Needham, MA/Gann Academy), Adelia Bandsma (), and Katarzyna Wisnauckas (Worthington, MA/Hampshire Regional) each found the back of the net, contributing to a season-high 13 players recording a point.

Smith opened the game with eight unanswered goals and carried a 16-7 lead into halftime. The Pioneers outshot Emerson 38-19 and converted on three woman-up opportunities, while limiting the Lions to just one free-position goal.

Goalkeepers Brooke Testa (Pittstown, NJ/Delaware Valley) and Shannon Houtenville (East Windsor, NJ/Highstown) combined for four saves and three ground balls in 60 minutes of work.

Smith returns home on Saturday to host MIT at 1:00 p.m. in its final regular season contest.
