NORTHAMPTON - Smith College Volleyball has been ranked 2nd in the 2025 NEWMAC Preseason Coaches Poll, following their championship victory in the conference last year over previously undefeted MIT.
In addition to the NEWMAC ranking, Smith College Volleyball has received recognition in the national American Volleyball Coaches' Association (AVCA) Preseason Poll as a team receiving votes. This acknowledgment places them among other notable programs nationwide that are anticipated to have a strong presence in the upcoming season.
Smith College will kick off their 2025 season on the road, facing Montclair State and Mount Aloysius. This opening event marks the beginning of a new chapter as they aim to build on the successes of their previous season.
The NEWMAC Preseason Coaches Poll listed MIT as the top-ranked team with 118 points and 8 first-place votes, followed by Smith with 111 points and 4 first-place votes. Noteworthy competitors Babson, Springfield, and Coast Guard round out the top five rankings, promising a competitive season ahead.
