NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – Smith College junior outside hitter Addison Klunder (Los Angeles, CA/The Buckley School)has been named the NEWMAC Offensive Player of the Week, marking her first career conference recognition.

Klunder was a key force in a 4-0 week for the Bears, hitting .309 with 32 kills and 20 digs. She turned in a dominant .533 hitting percentage with nine kills on 15 swings in a sweep of Dean College, followed by 10 kills on 17 swings in a three-set victory over Bridgewater State. 

Klunder closed out the weekend with 13 kills against Vassar, finishing the week averaging 5.0 points per set between her swings and service aces.

With Klunder leading the charge, Smith improved to 6-2 on the season.

The Bears return home on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m., when they welcome No. 19 Colby to Ainsworth Gymnasium.
