NORTHAMPTON - The Smith College basketball team placed four student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, recognizing their success both on the court and in the classroom.
Virginia Johnson (Minneapolis, MN/Southwest)
- Junior Economics major with a 4.0 GPA
- Named WBCA Honorable Mention All-America
- NEWMAC All-Conference First Team
- NEWBA All-Region Second Team
- NEWMAC Academic All-Conference
- Appeared in 30 games with 29 starts
Felicia Fongemie (Ashford, CT/Marianapolis Prep)
- Junior Psychology major with a 4.0 GPA
- NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team
- NEWMAC Academic All-Conference
- Appeared in 30 games with 17 starts
Hannah Martin (North Andover, MA/North Andover)
- Junior Biochemistry and Spanish major with a 4.0 GPA
- NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Year
- NEWMAC All-Conference First Team
- NEWMAC Laurels of Academic Excellence recipient
- NEWMAC Academic All-Conference
- Appeared in 23 games with 22 starts
- Also named a CSC Academic All-America finalist, with selections set to be announced on April 15.
Uta Nakamura (Manhattan, NY/Long Island Lutheran)
- Junior Economics major with a 3.6 GPA
- NEWMAC Academic All-Conference
- Appeared in 30 games with 15 starts
