Scouting the Competition
- No. 5 Wellesley College secured its 12th overall NEWMAC title in 2025, and the 11th of head coach Tessa Spillane's career. The team finished sixth overall at the NCAA Division III Championship.
- Coast Guard is coming off a fourth-place finish at the 2025 NEWMAC Championship. Currently ranked 11th nationally, the Bears recently topped No. 7-ranked Colby College
- Following a strong regular season and a great full team performance at the New York State Championships, Smith is looking forward to lining up with the full NEWMAC field and executing the 2,000-meter course. Leading the charge for the Bears are Nadia Grinyuk (Scarborough, ME/Scarborough) and Sox Whitin (Fleming Island, FL/Fleming Island), who were named to the CRCA Athlete to Watch list earlier this spring. Smith has maintained its top-10 national ranking throughout the spring season and has won at least a share of the Florence Jope Smith Cup the last two years.
- The eighth-ranked Bears are seeking their 12th NEWMAC Championship and last captured the title in 2024.
