NORTHAMPTON - Smith College swimming and diving was named a Scholar All-America Team while divers
Miranda Strunk (Lowell, MA/Lowell) and
Katherine Welsh (St. Paul, MN/Saint Paul Academy) were honored as Second Team CSCAA Scholar All-Americans for their efforts both in the pool and in the classroom for the 2025-26 season as recognized by the organization last week. The Bears spring semester GPA of 3.77 is ranked 12th in the country and is the highest in the NEWMAC.       Â
Scholar All-America Team honors, presented by Fitter & Faster Swim Camps, are awarded to the teams with a grade point average of 3.00 or higher for the Spring 2026 season. For individuals, First-Team honorees must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championships. For Second-Team honors, those with a 3.5 GPA or higher and an NIC "A" time standard are awarded.
Strunk and Welsh both qualified for the NCAA Regional Diving meet after achieving qualifying scores throughout the season. The duo earned top-10 finishes on the 1-meter and 3-meter at the NEWMAC Championship meet.Â
