Field Hockey Selected Fifth in NEWMAC Preseason Coaches Poll

MARLBOROUGH - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has released its Field Hockey Preseaosn Coaches Poll on Thursday with Smith College selected fifth by the league's coaches. 

Five-time defending league champion Babson College received nine of 10 first place votes to sit atop the poll.

Smith travels to Western New England University on Tuesday, September 1 to begin the 2026 campaign. NEWMAC play opens on Saturday, September 19 when the Bears travel to Wheaton College.

Jaime Ginsberg enters her 20th season as the head coach of the program. Despite losing two of its three top goal scorers from a season ago, Smith has some strong returners on this year's roster, including All-Conference honoree Anouk Bosket (Jordanstown, Northern Ireland/Belfast Royal Academy) (4 goals, 4 assists) and starting goalkeeper Iseul Park (Ann Arbor, MI/).
