NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--The first of two scheduled home meets for the Smith College swimming and diving team gets underway at 7 p.m. when the Pioneers host Springfield College in Smith's first dual meet of the season on Tuesday night.
Last Year: Mackenzie Bradley (Sherwood, Ore./Sherwood) won the 1,000 and 500 free, while also being part of the winning 200 free relay, and
Alyssa Pascuzzo (Scottsdale, Ariz./Notre Dame Prep) won the 100 fly. Springfield took the dual meet 164-123 on November 12, 2011.
Smith Overview: The Pioneers opened the season at the Betty Spears Relays on Saturday.
Jenika Parson (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) won the 1-meter and 3-meter dives, while Bradley, Pascuzzo,
Paige Christie (N. Andover, Mass./Austin Prep), and
Meredith Millman (Syosset, N.Y./Jerich) took fourth place in the 850 cresendo relay.
Springfield Overview: The Pride have won two dual meets this season, with wins over Division I Holy Cross, as well as beating NEWMAC foe Coast Guard. Kellie Pennington notched the only individual win for Springfield.
Did you know? Pennington won the national championship in the 50 free in 2012.
