SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--
Cecelia Arrison (Weathersfield, Vt./Stevens (N.H.)) qualified for the NCAA Regional Diving Meet as the Smith College swimming and diving team competed in a dual meet at the Art Linkletter Natatorium at Springfield College on Tuesday night.
The Pride won the dual meet by a score 171-121.
The two time reigning NEWMAC Diver of the Week, Arrison scored 269.25, finishing second overall and hitting a qualifying score for the second consecutive week. Â Arrison also finished fourth on the 1-meter board, scoring 228.36.
Claire Dudek (Bethesda, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) posted a win in the 1,000 freestyle, clocking in at 11:46.10, more than 11 seconds ahead of her nearest competitor, and
Olivia Bannon (Amherst, Mass./Amherst) finished first in the 200 breaststroke, winning in a photo finish. Â Bannon touched the wall in 2:33.24, just .69 seconds ahead of Springfield's Callie Phillips. Â Bannon also finished second in the 100 breaststroke, in 1:09.87.
Erika Schroeder (Houston, Texas/Memorial) turned in a second place finish in the 100 yard backstroke, with a time of 1:06.65, and finished third in the 100 yard freestyle in 58.56. Â
Grace Lee (Beaverton, Ore./Aloha) finished third in 26.99 an extremely close 50 yard freestyle, where less than a second separated first through third, and
Paige Christie (N. Andover, Mass./Austin Prep) was second in the 200 yard backstroke in 2:22.63. Â
Alyssa Pascuzzo (Scottsdale, Ariz./Notre Dame Prep) added a second place finish in the 100 yard butterfly in 1:03.57.
Smith will return to Dalton Pool for the first of two straight home meets, when the Pioneers host Elms College on November 19 at 7 p.m.
