NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - Alyssa Pascuzzo (Scottsdale, Ariz./Notre Dame Prep) won the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle as the Smith College swimming and diving team dropped a dual meet to conference foe Springfield College, 162.5-129.5 Tuesday night.

Pascuzzo took first in the 50 free with a time of 26.35, .56 seconds ahead of Springfield's Christine Legsdin. Pascuzzo also took home first in the 100 free, second in the 100 butterfly and helped the Pioneers nab a win in the 200 free relay.

Paige Christie (N. Andover, Mass./Austin Prep) also brought home a win with a 2:27.75 time in the 200 IM that outdistanced teammate Abby Bergman (El Segundo, Calif./Vistamar) by more than eight seconds. The Pioneers swept the top-3 spots in the 200 IM, with Christine Hart (Rexford, N.Y./Niskayuna) finishing third behind Bergman and Christie.

The 200 free relay team of Erika Schroeder (Houston, Texas/Memorial), Erin Walch (Alexandria, Ky./Academy of Math & Science), Meredith Millman (Syosset, N.Y./Jerich) and Pascuzzo captured first place with a time of 1:48.37, while Smith's "B" team of Claire Dudek (Bethesda, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase), Eliza Cummings (Denver, Colo./Denver Center for Int'l Studies), Abby Onos (South Portland, Maine/South Portland) and Carolyn Taylor (Dallas, Texas/Hockaday School) took second with a time of 1:50.37.

Anna Partridge (Seattle, Wash./Mercer Island) and Elyse Stone (Westborough, Mass./Westborough) went 1-2 in the three-meter dive, with Patridge tallying a score of 219.35, while Stone scored a 203.85. Patridge also took third in the one-meter, scoring 227.50.

Additionally, Kyle Boyd (Amherst, Mass./Amherst) touched second in the 1000 free in 12:29.57, and Bergman touched in second in the 200 butterfly in 2:26.73.

Smith will be back in action next Tuesday, traveling to Elms College for a 7 p.m. dual meet.
