THE SERIES
Smith and Emerson will meet for the 4th time on Saturday afternoon in a series that began in 2013. The series is even at 1-1-1.

Two first-half goals from Paige Haley propelled Emerson to a 4-0 victory over Smith on October 10, 2015.
LAST SMITH WIN
Seven different Pioneers tallied at least one point as Smith posted an 8-1 victory over Emerson on October 12, 2014. Jordan Houston, Gigi Ross and Jenna Bicierro each netted two goals, while Ross also added three assists.
SCOUTING THE LIONS
Emerson enters today's game after a dominating 5-0 win over Regis Tuesday evening. In that game, five different Lions, including sophomores Elizabeth Noble, Paige Haley and Rachel Lord, freshman Chiara Bernardi and junior Alexandra Levin scored. Bernardi is second in the NEWMAC in goals (8) and points (18) while teammate Jess Frost is tied for third in the conference with seven goals and fourth in points (16). Senior goalkeeper Melanie Escobar owns a 2.15 goals against average and .691 save percentage. The Lions average 2.83 goals per game and were picked to finish ninth in the NEWMAC Preseason Coaches Poll.
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Smith played to a 1-1 double overtime draw with Springfield Tuesday night.
Sophia Mallari (Waterford, Conn./Waterford) scored her first goal of the season, while
Shelby Hall (West Springfield, Mass./West Springfield) made one first-half save, before
Camryn Biasin (Lee, Mass./Berkshire) came on in relief and made seven stops in 75 minutes. The Pioneers are off to their best start since the 1991 season when Smith started 9-2-1 through 12 games. Junior forward
Jordan Isaacs (Weston, Conn./Weston) leads the team with seven goals and five assists for 19 points. Isaacs ranks in the top five in the NEWMAC in points, goals and assists. Hall (0.90 gaa/.826 save pct) and Biasin (0.24 gaa/.947 save pct) have been solid in net throughout the season. Smith leads the NEWMAC averaging 3.58 goals per game and were selected to finish sixth in the Preseason Coaches Poll.
