SMITH VS. BABSON
THE SERIES
Babson and Smith will meet for the 43rd time on Saturday in a series that dates back to 1982. The Beavers own a 21-18-3 advantage all-time and are unbeaten in 11 straight matchups (9-0-2) between the sides going back to 2006.
LAST MEETING
Senior Olivia Kerester tied the game in the 70th minute as Smith and Babson played to a 1-1 2OT draw on September 26, 2015.
Maya McCann (Springfield, Mass./Renaissance) scored in the 15th minute for the Pioneers, who got 14 saves from juniors
Shelby Hall (West Springfield, Mass./West Springfield) and
Camryn Biasin (Lee, Mass./Berkshire). Sophomore Elizabeth Mycock turned away four shots for the Beavers.
LAST BABSON WIN
Kerester scored 3:09 into overtime to send third-seeded Babson past sixth-seeded Smith, 2-1, in a NEWMAC Tournament quarterfinal on November 4, 2014. Meghan Tyson '16 tied the game in the 50th minute for the Beavers, who fell behind on a fifth-minute goal by the Pioneers' senior

Monroe Peterson scored in the 99th minute to give the Pioneers a 1-0 win over Babson in a NEWMAC Tournament quarterfinal on October 29, 2005, in Babson Park.
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Smith (5-0-2, 1-0-0) continued its best start in program history with a 1-1 2OT draw at UMass Dartmouth on Wednesday. First-year
Reilly Sullivan (Keene, N.H./Keene) scored in the 48th minute and Hall made six saves for the Pioneers, who were outshot 16-13. Junior
Jordan Isaacs (Weston, Conn./Weston) (7-4-18) leads the NEWMAC in scoring, senior
Emily Smith (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) (5-1-11) scored in four of the first five matches and Sullivan (3-4-10) is tied for the team lead in assists. Hall has posted a 0.80 goals against average and a .765 save percentage in seven appearances. Smith was picked to finish sixth in the Preseason Coaches Poll.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
Babson (3-2-2, 1-0-0) had its four-game unbeaten streak snapped in a 1-0 OT loss to ninth-ranked Brandeis on Wednesday. Mycock made two saves for the Beavers, who allowed the only goal of the match in the 96th minute. Senior Jennifer Narlee was named NEWMAC Offensive Athlete of the Week on Monday, scoring twice and contributing one assist for five points in a pair of victories last week. Mycock and fellow sophomore Maddison Gierschick have combined to post a 0.93 goals against average to go along with a .696 save percentage and three clean sheets this fall. The Beavers were selected to finish third in the NEWMAC Preseason Poll.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
The Beavers are unbeaten in their last nine NEWMAC matches in the month of September (6-0-3) going back to 2013.

SCOUTING THE SAXONS
Alfred (5-2) snapped a two-game losing streak on Wednesday in their 1-0 win over the Pennsylvania College of Technology. Ten of 11 starters return for the Saxons, including five upperclassmen who have started since their freshmen seasons. Among the returnees are the top three scorers from a season ago: junior forward Lauren Wyant, sophomore midfielder Emily Wright and sophomore defender Ally Hendel. Amanda Roberts leads the team in scoring with four goals, four assists for 12 points. Goalkeeper Sammy Jo Shanahan owns a 0.71 goals against average and 0.844 save percentage. The Saxons average 1.71 goals per game.
