FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

• Smith travels to Springfield College for their first dual meet of the season tonight at 7:00 p.m.

• The Pioneers were selected to finish seventh in the NEWMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, while the Pride were picked fourth.

• In last season's meeting, the Pride claimed a 170-130 victory over Smith in Dalton Pool...Desi Stoyanova (Plovdiv, Bulgaria) earned victories in the 100 and 200 fly.

• Springfield enters tonight's contest after a 195.5-99.5 loss to No. 6 MIT Saturday afternoon...Senior Kassandra Lamb finished second in the 1000 free, third in the 200 back and 400 individual medley.

• This past Friday, the Pioneers earned a victory Babson, but fell to Brandeis and WPI at the annual WPI Quad Meet...Smith won both diving events with senior Elly Stone (Westborough, Mass./Westborough) leading sophomores Abigail Hanna (Averill Park, N.Y./Doane Stuart) and Shoshana Werblow (Ashland, Ore. /Ashland) on the 1-meter with scores of 256.90, 250.65 and 224.75...Hanna was the top finisher on the 3-meter board with 282.70 points followed by Stone (268.50) and Werblow (255.50)
