ROCHESTER, NY - The Smith College Distance Medley Relay team made history on Friday when it became the first DMR team to compete for Smith at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Smith finished 11th overall in 12:00.41.
University of Chicago won the national championship followed by MIT and Connecticut College to round out the top three.Â
Serena Britner (Hampton, CT/St. Bernard) opened up the race for Smith in the 1200m (3:45.96) portion before handing things off to
Lena Baker (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit North) in the 400m (1:01.27) leg.
Shams Ferver (Barre, VT/U-32)Â ran the 800m (2:18.50) race before passing the baton off to
Pria Parker (Hingham, MA/Hingham) who closed out with the mile (4:54.70).Â

Smith will now set its sights on the outdoor season starting on Saturday, March 29 at Tufts University.Â
