NEW LONDON, CT. – The Smith College track and field team delivered a strong all-around performance at the New England Division III Outdoor Championships, finishing 14th out of 51 teams and recording multiple personal bests, school records, and national-level marks.
Pria Parker (Hingham, MA/Hingham) continued their standout senior campaign, racing to a school record and personal best in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:29.49, good for second place overall. Pria's performance now ranks them #11 nationally in NCAA Division III.
The 4x800m relay team of Serena Britner (Hampton, CT/St. Bernard), Shams Ferver (Barre, VT/U-32), Catherine Collins (Westfield, NJ/Westfield), and Parker also etched their names into the record books, finishing 4th in 9:23.86—another Smith school record.
Senior Elaine McCarty () capped off a stellar meet in the heptathlon, finishing 9th overall with a personal best of 3,498 points across seven grueling events. McCarty placed as high as 5th in the long jump (4.84m) and 6th in both the 200m (27.67) and high jump (1.46m), also contributing in the shot put (8.52m), javelin (18.89m), and the 800m (2:41.44).

Shams Ferver (Barre, VT/U-32) posted a personal best of 2:15.74 in the open 800m, placing 5th and entering the national top 75.

Lyda Martin (San Antonio, TX/Lee) took 3rd in the 1500m with a time of 4:37.30, a season-best.

The 4x100m relay squad of Tiff Hooker, Elowyn Gottsacker (Portland, OR/Roosevelt), Lena Baker (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit North), and Daniela Pilier (Higuey, DR/Escuela Liceo Juan XXIII de la Salle) ran 49.72, placing 10th and recording a season best.

Gottsacker also competed in the 100m hurdles (15.79), while Jillian da Costa Pinto (West Hartford, CT/Conard) cleared 3.25m in the pole vault. The 4x400m relay team placed 14th in 4:14.84.
