NORTHAMPTON, Mass. — Smith College Volleyball announced today the hiring of Brooke Stanley as Assistant Coach, adding a proven leader with championship experience, recruiting expertise, and a strong background in high-performance athlete development to its coaching staff.
Stanley joins Smith after a successful tenure as an assistant coach at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she contributed to one of the most accomplished periods in program history. During her time at MIT, the program earned a conference championship, produced multiple All-Americans, advanced to the NCAA Division III Sweet 16 in consecutive seasons, and achieved multiple undefeated regular seasons. She also helped develop the program's first-ever Division III National Rookie of the Year.
"Brooke has consistently worked in environments where excellence is the standard," said Greg Walker, Head Coach of Smith College Volleyball. "She understands how to build trust, develop confident and resilient student-athletes, and contribute to winning cultures within high-academic settings. Her experience, work ethic, and alignment with our values make her a tremendous addition to our program."
In addition to her collegiate coaching background, Stanley currently serves as an Associate Club Director with Boston United Volleyball Club, where she oversees recruiting operations and athlete development across multiple age groups. In that role, she works closely with athletes and families navigating the college recruiting process while supporting large-scale program operations, staffing, and coach development.
At Smith, Stanley will support recruiting, opponent scouting, player development, and day-to-day program operations, bringing a detail-oriented and athlete-centered approach to each aspect of the program. Her experience recruiting and competing within the NEWMAC and other high-academic Division III environments aligns closely with Smith's institutional mission and competitive goals.
Stanley holds a Master's degree in Sports Management with a concentration in High Performance Coaching from the University of Florida, graduating magna cum laude.. A former Division I student-athlete, she brings firsthand understanding of the student-athlete experience and the balance required to succeed at the collegiate level.
"I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join Smith College and be part of a program with such clear direction and purpose," Stanley said. "The culture, leadership, and commitment to student-athlete development stood out immediately, and I'm excited to contribute to the continued growth and success of the program."
Stanley's hiring reflects Smith College Volleyball's continued investment in coaching leadership and its commitment to building a sustainable, competitive program within the NEWMAC and on the national stage.
