SOUTH HADLEY - The Smith College swimming & diving team delivered an impressive performance at Mount Holyoke, winning 15 out of 16 events. The Bears improve to 9-3 in dual meets this season which ties the second most wins in program history. Smith's last nine-win season came during the 1985-86 season.Â
"I really want to congratulate our incredible coaches - Katt, Laura, Louie, and Maya - and all of our hard working athletes on a historic season. To finish with 9 wins for the first time since the 1985-1986 season is a wonderful accomplishment. The team has learned this season that success is a natural byproduct when there is a commitment to a supportive, competitive, and hardworking team culture. As a coach, what excites me most right now is that while we made a little more history today, this team still has much to improve upon as we move forward the next few weeks and get ready for the conference championship. I am extremely confident that we'll make such improvements and that we'll have an awesome next couple of weeks. I'm excited to get back to work with them on Monday!"
