NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – The Smith College softball team opens the 2014 season with a seven-game slate at the Gene Cusic Classic in Cape Coral and Fort Myers, Florida beginning on Sunday with a 9:00 a.m. game against UMass Dartmouth.
The Pioneers will face three teams from New York in addition to one each from Maine, Massachusetts, Illinois and Wisconsin. Smith opposed UMass Dartmouth, Brockport and University of New England during last year's trip and will see Clarkson, Wisconsin-Platteville and Alfred State for the first time ever. The Pioneers last played Knox in 2005.
