FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

• Smith and Elms will meet for the first time since the 2013 season when the Pioneers earned a 3-0 win over the Blazers.

 

• The Pioneers will play their first game in the newly built softball complex and are 2-3 in home openers in the last five years.

 

• Sophomore Elodie Townsend (Mill Valley, Calif./Tamalpais) has registered a hit in all but one game this season.

 

• Elms returns eight starters from last year's team and will be led by Elizabeth Olszewski and Catharine Wang who earned Second Team All-NECC honors last year.

 

• Junior pitcher Lisa Lusardi owns a 2.47 ERA and 2-4 record in 39.2 innings pitched this season.
