Smith Athletics Hall of Fame
Jeanne Eichelsdoerfer '43 has been a champion of Smith Equestrian since the 1970's. In addition to generous financial support, Jeanne developed a "Horse Memoir Project" which is housed in the Smith Archives. It contains biographies of Smith alumnae who have become leaders in every aspect of the equine industry. She is author of Horse Sense, a book chronicling the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) and its founder Bob Cacchione. She also created an alumnae newsletter and a website to provide a way to keep Smith riders connected to the program, and each other. Jeanne bought her first horse in 1984, owns a small acreage in Bethany, Connecticut and today still stables a few horses and rides regularly.
