Smith Athletics Hall of Fame
Lisa 'Bella' Marlow '83 was a multi-time New England Champion and a 16-time NCAA Swimming and Diving All-American. Bella is still on the record board for the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:42.21) and the 800-yard freestyle relay (8:07.31) which were set in 1980 and 1981, respectively. Records that have fallen over time include the 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard butterfly, 200-yard individual medley, 400-yard individual medley and 400-yard medley relay. Bella, the Smith swimming and diving team Rookie of the Year, has given back to the sport as an assistant coach at Boston College, Smith, Wellesley and MIT and was the head coach at Wheaton for its first 11 seasons. She is currently an assistant coach for the Weston High School team and a swim instructor at MIT.
